DOC Tampere-kehittelyklinikka sparraa dokumenttielokuvahankkeita

WIFT Finland järjestää yhteistyössä Tampereen Elokuvajuhlien kanssa DOC Tampere -kehittelyklinikan naispuolisten tekijöiden hankkeiden edistämiseksi. Klinikka on osa Action! -hanketta, jonka tavoitteena on edistää naispuolisten ammattilaisten työllistymistä audiovisuaalisella alalla, kehittää toimenpiteitä esteiden poistamiseksi ja tukea työllistämistoimia sektorilla Suomessa.
WIFT Finlandin DOC Tampere -kehittelyklinikka on suunnattu ensisijaisesti pitkille dokumenttielokuvahankkeille, jotka ovat jossain vaiheessa saaneet kehittely- tai kohdetukea Suomen elokuvasäätiöstä tai muilta julkisilta tai yksityisiltä rahoittajilta, mutta eivät sen jälkeen ole edenneet jatkokehittelyyn tai tuotantoon asti. Hankkeissa tulee olla kiinnitettyinä tuottaja ja ohjaaja (projektiryhmän koko 1-3 henkeä). Työryhmien tekijätiimeissä tulee olla vähintään 50% naisedustus. Hankkeiden pitää olla sellaisia, että niitä on edistetty jollakin tapaa huolimatta siitä, että ne eivät ole saaneet jatkorahoitusta. Vapaamuotoisissa hakemuksissa tulee tuoda todennetusti esille, milloin hanke on saanut kehittelytukea / hanketukea ja milloin hanke on lakannut etenemästä julkisen rahoituksen piirissä. Lisäksi hakemuksessa tulee tulla esille se, miten työryhmä on edistänyt hanketta itsenäisesti ilman julkista rahoitusta.
WIFT Finland valitsee 5.- 6.3.2020 järjestettävään DOC Tampere -kehittelyklinikkaan hakemusten perusteella 4 hanketta tekijöineen. Kehittelyklinikka on valituille työryhmille ilmainen, mutta matkat ja majoitus tulee osallistujien maksaa itse. Hankkeet saavat kahden päivän ajan konsultointia ja suoraa sparrausta hankkeen edistämiseksi. Kouluttajina toimivat Cecilia Lidin (DFI) ja Mikael Opstrup. Klinikan päätteeksi työryhmät pääsevät pitchaamaan Tampereen Elokuvajuhlien järjestämässä "Buy This Doc" -tilaisuudessa alan ammattilaisille.
Valitut hankkeet esitellään WIFT Finland Book of Projects -hanke-esittelykatalogissa. Kaikki osallistujat saavat akkreditoinnin Tampereen Elokuvajuhlille ja voivat osallistua sen viralliseen ohjelmistoon.
Vapaamuotoisessa hakemuksessa tulee yllä olevan lisäksi olla mukana:
- kunkin tekijän lyhyt bio ja filmografia (maks. 500 sanaa) sekä henkilökohtainen valokuva jokaisesta tekijästä
- hanke-esittely, lyhyt synopsis, esittely- tai markkinointivalokuva hankkeesta
- hankkeen työsuunnitelma, aikataulu ja ennakoitu kokonaisbudjetti
- lyhyt, maks. 1 sivun motivaatio, jonka käsikirjoittaja, tuottaja ja ohjaaja kirjoittavat yhdessä
- lyhyt esittely tuotantoyhtiöstä (mikäli hankkeella sellainen on)
Kaikki aineisto tulee lähettää ainoastaan englanninkielisenä. DOC Tampereen työskentelykieli on englanti.

Varmista, että hakusähköpostin lähettämisen ja kansion jakamisen yhteydessä olet jakanut WIFT Finlandille täydet oikeudet käsitellä kansiossa olevaa materiaalia. Vain hakupäivämäärään mennessä tullut aineisto otetaan huomioon valinnassa eikä WIFT Finland käsittele materiaalia, joka lähetetään määräajan jälkeen.
Päätökset valinnoista ilmoitetaan viikolla 8.

DOC Tampere Development Clinic coaches documentary film projects - The call is open!
WIFT Finland will arrange a documentary film development clinic "DOC Tampere" in co-operation with Tampere Short Film Festival on 5th to 6th March 2020. Doc Tampere is part of "Action!", an initiative funded by the European Social Fund promoting the employment of female professionals in the audiovisual field in Finland.
The DOC Tampere clinic is aimed at feature length documentary projects that have had some funding from Finnish Film Foundation or other public or private funders, but are yet to proceed into production. Primarily we are looking for director & producer teams (max 3 participants / team). There should be a 50% female representation in each project group. We also prefer projects with an ongoing development scheme, despite of not having settled the finances or distribution plans yet. The informal application should inlcude the details regarding the project funding, the schedule of funding received as well as when the funding was ceased within the public funding system. Application should also account for the way the filmmakers have advanced the project independently, in lack of public support.
WIFT Finland will select 4 project teams to participate in the development clinic. DOC Tampere will provide the projects a two-day session including coaching and consultation. At the end of the clinic the participants will pitch their projects in a curated pitching event 'Buy This Doc' on Friday 6th March. 'Buy This Doc' event is organized by Tampere Film Festival.
The development clinic is free of charge, but the participants must cover their travel costs and accommodation themselves.
The chosen projects will be included in the WIFT Finland Book of Projects - presentation catalogue. All participants will also receive accreditation to Tampere Film Festival free of charge.
Informal applications should include:
- short bio and filmography (max. 500 words) and a photo of each participant - short presentation, short synopsis and a marketing photo of the project - work plan, schedule and estimated budget of the film - short (max. 1 page) motivation letter written together by the director and the producer - short presentation of the production company - any additional material (showreels, teasers, rough cuts) - material with moving images preferably provided as a linked attachment
All material should be written in English. The working language during DOC Tampere development clinic will be English. Consultation regarding the application process will be provided in Finnish, English and Swedish.
